Had comedian Iliza Shlesinger been a Golf Dispute Resolution reader, she might have avoided the lawsuit filed against her by Attorney Alfred Rava on behalf of a male client, in which he alleges that Ms. Shlesinger has engaged in unlawful gender discrimination by hosting an all-women’s comedy show. The plaintiff, George St. George, alleges that he was denied entry to the show despite having purchased a ticket.
We previously reported on two golf-related lawsuits filed by Attorney Rava, in which male clients alleged gender discrimination. In one of these, litigation was filed against California’s Eagle Vines Vineyards & Golf Club, based on reduced greens and cart fees to women golfers as part of a ladies’ day promotion (see our discussion here and here and here).
We subsequently discussed another suit brought by Attorney Rava, this one against Golf Galaxy, alleging the company discriminated against men when it barred them for a two hour period to facilitate a Women’s Night event.
